Updates from the Principal Advisory Council

From the VP of Student Life

As we wrap up another successful fall of co-curricular activities I want to thank all of the coaches and moderators for their hard work and dedication to our students experience. The fall play finished an outstanding run of "Radium Girls", telling the heartbreaking story of the female workers in a watch factory during World War I. The cast and crew did a phenomenal job under the guidance of Brien O'Loughlin and Melissa Minjares. Our Homecoming week was a success, from spirit week to the assembly you could see the students have a great time being Lions. The week was capped off with a packed stadium and a resounding win by the football team followed by the Alumni Social honoring Fr. Gerry. Special thanks to Jessica Achziger and Kristine Zelazny for planning a great dance, Patrea Fernandez for the work on the assembly, Dean Hanks and his team for their work on the Social, and Cari Harrison and Jim Dempsey for their guidance on the Spirit week activities. It is awesome to be a Lion and all of us should be proud.

Fall sports had another great year of competition. League titles for Girls Cross Country (7th in State), Boys and Girls Golf, and Boys Tennis highlighted the fall, with Boys Tennis also winning the district title. Liam Bethke and Brett Kelley won the doubles title for the SPSL and finished 2nd at WCD and Phillip Deaton won the singles title for the SPSL and WCD, while Gabe Lau and Montgomery Ferreria won medalist awards for the SPSL tournament. Tennis and Golf will compete in the spring at districts and state. Girls soccer reached the state quarterfinals and the boys cross country team qualified for the state tournament. Football missed out on the post-season due to a tie breaker and Volleyball just missed the district tournament. Congratulations to all of our fall athletes and coaches for representing Bellarmine in one of the toughest leagues in the state.

GO LIONS!
